Day 2

Today's class was a little bit tougher. We worked on some new commands including "lap" and "visit". We also had lectures on motivation and correction. When we worked with the dogs, it was more challenging because we were responsible for giving them corrections. The dogs are used to corrections given with the strength and accuracy of the trainers, so our corrections were not always effective. Lots of people became frustrated.
The best part of class today was working with distractions. The trainers let a rabbit loose during the training and the rabbit hopped as fast as he could back to his kennel. It was pretty cute to watch Jack zig zagging around all the dogs. We also worked with dog treats on the floor, the trainers bounced tennis balls, and had squeaky toys out. The dogs were great.
I worked three dogs that I had also worked yesterday - Keaton, Caitlyn, and Dewey. Tomorrow I will be placed with one of these dogs. See below to look at pictures. They are all really great dogs and each one has some outstanding qualities. I will be happy with whatever decision the trainers make. Stayed tuned . . .
